Shipwright, Joiner and Bridge Builder
Welcome
to the Andrew Oliver web site that shows a selection of work created by myself
and the team.
Established
in 2004, we specialise in the restoration of all kinds of boat upto 35 feet
long and also the construction of bespoke joinery and wooden bridges under the
name of Hampshire. Originally based in Aldsworth, we have now moved to Unit 2, Emsworth
Yacht Harbour and so our boat handling will be improved and where we have a
fully equipped 200 sq metre workshop.

Our business was originally established to
repair wooden boats and the initial commission was for a re-construction of a
28 foot French fishing boat seen in the photographs. The timbers used were French
Oak and Teak and the engine and electrics were also replaced. Since this
first major piece of work, we have now refurbished folk boats, dinghys and
wooden cruisers. We now have restored Class boats including
Sunbeams, X boats and Victory’s. One of our most recent comissions has been a
Sunbeam where we restored the woodwork and a company called Pebble Marine of
Bosham completed the faring and painting. There are pictures showing stages
of rebuilding and the final finish. |

We can produce bridges from our standard range
of wooden bridge designs or alternatively we can create other designs to
match your unique circumstances. Our standard service involves: A site visit,
discussion on the style and materials to be used, a quotation, construction
at our workshop and then the final installation on site. |

Joinery
Using the shipwright skills and new machinery, we
undertake joinery and have been commissioned on projects to replace doors and
windows in period properties where the size and construction is unususal. We
can also build staircases and have undertaken hardwood panelling and
constructed bifolding hardwood doors for new properties. We would be pleased
to quote for any of your requirements.
